Kandi and Porsha’s relationship…

I’ve seen a lot of commotion between the status of Kandi and Porsha’s relationship. I’m going to give my honest (but very unpopular opinion). Kandi has not forgiven Porsha, and she never will. I’ve gotten backlash from some of Porsha’s fans, because I’ve always felt she got off too easy in that rape/gate situation. She should’ve received the same punishment as Phaedra. It was more hurtful, because Kandi and Porsha were actually friends.

If we’re being honest here, Kandi was the first one out of that group to really take a liking to Porsha. She defended her numerous times. She defended Porsha, when the girls would make fun of her, honoring her marriage at the time. She supported her through her divorce, stood up for her after the fight with Kenya. Also, confronted Kenya for pressing charges against her. She instantly checked on her, after her fight with Cynthia (while she was pregnant). She hired her for her play, supported her charity on celebrity apprentice, etc.. Basically, she always had her back, more than once. So, for her to insert herself between the drama with her and Phaedra, was uncalled for. She should’ve remained neutral. But, she didn’t. Then, on top of that, she repeated a terrible lie on camera, that could have ruined her entire name and brand.

I know some are saying, well this is all old and ancient history. Why are we going back to season 9? Well, the tea is “alledgedly” Porsha admitted in Greece last season, that she knew this rumor was a lie, but she repeated it anyway. Kenya alluded a part of this, on Kandi’s speak on it, after season 12 reunion. But, Kandi didn’t show it all. She said “since production didn’t air it, it didn’t happen”. Now, if this is the case, then Kandi has every right to still be pissed off and angry. So, the question lingers: Why won’t she just say this then? I personally feel she doesn’t want backlash from the fans. Because some of the fans can be a lynch mob, with their cyber attacks on people who speak out against the fan faves. And many aren’t equipped to handle it. Which is why, many play into the narratives, because they rather be liked vs being the villain. Especially, since it’s easier to bandwagon vs going against the grain.

In season 11, Kandi kind of got the villain edit, for being very vocal about Porsha and Dennis relationship at the time. Everyone else was supportive of Porsha’s relationship, but Kandi had alot to say. She even had the Kandi Koated clique speaking out about it, along with Jamie (the girl Porsha fought in season 8). Many fans attacked her, and said she needed to mind her own business. They also told her to stop being messy. Some said she’s only doing this, because she’s still holding a grudge. And since Porsha apologized, Kandi need to leave her alone. I don’t think she wants the backlash, from telling her true feelings, because she’s already experienced it in season 11. 

I also think she would have been the villain at season 11 reunion, if she didn’t bring Kenya to the season finale. Because after the finale, the villain role went from Kandi to Nene, because Nene obviously wasn’t happy to see Kenya there. Given their rocky history. Then, Kandi also apologized to Porsha, once she found out she was pregnant. So, I think Kandi will continue to speak in circles, and through everyone else, because it’s the safer approach for her. If everyone else highlights it, then her hands can stay clean, jmo..
