My interview with Robyn Dixon (RHOP) 🥰

Well Hello Ms Robyn! Thank you for taking the time to interview with me. As many people know you are one of my favorite housewives. You were also one of the first bravolebs to show support towards #alltruetea# and I really appreciate that as well.

Robyn: Hi and thank you for being patient with me. I’ve been extremely busy with moving and traveling with my basketball team. So, it’s good to finally sit down and chat with you. Yes, I am a fan of your blog and I’m happy to see your growth 😊

So here we are in season 6: Did you think you’ll be here season 6?

Robyn: Season 6 and I can’t believe it. We have indeed come a long way, but I’m loving and enjoying this jouney. I’m glad that others are loving and supporting our franchise as well. Many have been sleeping on us, so it’s good to finally see people are woke to us, lol.

Covid really affected many of us: I know seeing the first 2 episodes this season, you really struggled heavy with the pandemic: It also showed some tension with you and Juan because of it. Just wondering how are things with you and Juan now? Is a bravo wedding still in the works for you 2?

Robyn: Covid really hit me hard, because it literally came from out of nowhere. Especially, with the depression. I didn’t think I would ever get out of it. It did cause a rough patch with us, but we got through it. Me and Juan have weathered tougher storms and that’s what makes us solid as a couple. We are able to deal with the good, bad and ugly with our relationship, but still come full circle after it all. Yes, there will still be a wedding. I want a destination wedding, but obviously COVID does put a damper on things. But yes, we are still getting married.

We also saw in the season premiere you and Juan are building your home: Are you all moved in yet?

Robyn: We actually just settled into our home the end of July, and I’m currently living under boxes and in boxes. Still unpacking. Moving is the worse. We’re slowly getting settled in, but I’m very blessed and grateful to be living in our new home.

Reality TV producer Carlos King made a post saying that reality stars shouldn’t read comments from fans: How do you deal with the criticism or hate you receive from people?

Robyn: I 100% absolutely agree with that. It’s unfortunate because the negativity and toxicity from fans kind of ruins the experience for the people who are supportive. So, I really don’t read comments, or go searching for my name. I don’t follow certain pages or follow #rhop#. I really don’t want to invite that toxic energy into my life. I know it’s hard to avoid it sometimes, but I also don’t want it to change who I am on the show. I don’t want to filter or edit myself or just act a different way, due to feedback or backlash from fans. I’m not going to filter myself, when it comes to the things I say or do on the show. I want to be as authentic, natural and real as possible. This is a reality show. I know we’re making a tv show, but I want to deal with my castmates the same way I would deal with anyone in an everyday setting. Sorry for being long winded. But, I definitely feel some people on shows don’t want to receive backlash from fans, so they will say and do things to appeal to them, or will filter themselves and will avoid having difficult or uncomfortable conversations. It’s reality tv and we have to take the good and the bad with it, because it’s what we signed up for.

We have 2 newbies Mia and Askale: What can you tell us about them? Will they be great additions this season?

Robyn: Mia and Askale are great additions to the show. Mia is a breath of fresh air, just because she’s so different. She’s so open and she just comes in sharing so much about her life. She also kind of came in ready to stir up some drama. Which I don’t know if that was authentic, or if it was a newbie making tv type of thing. But you know, hey it served it’s purpose.  Askale is just so sweet. I think I saw her a lot of times with her jaw open watching the drama. Like these women are crazy, lol. But Askale is really, really sweet. She brings a sweet perspective to the show and definitely tries to stand up for people, when necessary.

I know Gizelle is your green-eyed bandit/ soul sister, but who else on the show do you consider close to you?

Robyn: I am close to Candiace. We communicate a lot. I think we just get along well and we vibe.  I am close with Ashley, she’s been there since day 1 with us. So, I would say those 2, plus Gizelle are my closest castmates. I guess that’s kind of weird, considering since Candiace and Ashley don’t really like each other. But, hey that’s the beauty of our group. That we can all have our own relationships with one another, despite the different dynamics in the group, and the issues that other people might have with one another.

What’s your current relationship with Karen?

Robyn: I don’t really communicate with Karen.  I kind of keep her at an arms length. I could never trust or get a good read on her, because she’s so fake and phony. I’ll just say it’s non existent. I don’t have any ill will towards her, but it’s non existent.

What do you think of Nicki Minaj wanting to host the reunion?

Robyn: That would be so dope and great ratings for our show. Andy seems open to it. We’ll have to wait and see if it’s happens. Even if she just did a segment, that would be great too.

Tell us about your current or future projects you have going on that we can look forward to?

Robyn: My business embellished has really grown and it’s very successful. I’m trying to work on new styles, new fabrics and just new segments of that business. I am in the baby stages, but I am also planning to work with a designer in creating my athletic clothing line. So, we’ll see what happens there. But, I really want to expand embellished with adding more styles and variety because it has been so successful. And I really appreciate everyone’s support.
